Story Ideas

Fanfiction ideas!  May or may not be fleshed out into proper stories at some point; I just want a record of them here so I don't forget.  All have something to do with Farscape, so heavy spoiler warning.

poem

As many of you may or may not know, I got contacts recently!  I had a devil of a time putting them on at first, but now I'm pretty good.  Anyway, I wrote this poem in kind of a hurry at work, and I'm not really sure how I like it.  It was inspired in part by a poem called "Cagemaker's Craft", by a friend who goes by Solemn Coyote on FictionPress.  Feel free to tell me what you think!

Winter Poetry

Here's a two haiku and a tanka about the snow for you guys.

Snow! )

In other news, I am still working on the massive fanfic of doom that I started for NaNoWriMo. I know I haven't updated in a while, but another installment should be up soon. Happy Chinese New Year, everyone!

In Which Sam Tells Everyone the Plan

Here's something for you now, and there might be more later but I plan to actually get some homework done tonight, so it's kinda doubtful.  Sorry.

In Which Zuko Proves He Really Is a Fire-Bender

Yay!  Here's another piece to the puzzle!  There would be more, but I find it hard to write when I can barely keep my eyes open.  Good night!

In Which a Zombie is Killed and a Young Man Wakes Up.

So, I totally should've warned you guys that the pieces I'm posting here will be out of order.  When I do something like this, I write the pieces that I want to, and then go back and fill in the bits in-between afterwards.  For my 2006 NaNoWriMo story, it worked pretty well.  I got a good amount done, even though I didn't finish.  And maybe I'll even go back to it, since I've been getting ideas again.  But anyways, onto the next segment!

P.S. Woo-hoo for being behind!  ^_^;;

Outline

... but that's what makes this so much fun!

National Novel Writing Month

November is National Novel Writing Month!  If you have a good idea and feel up to writing 50,000 words, sign up at www.nanowrimo.org.
If you'd just like to sit back, relax, and watch me post all my hard work right here on this journal, that's fine too!

Starting on November 1, I will be posting everything I write on this journal.  I don't know if IJ can send notifications when someone updates, so it'd probably be a good idea to check back here every week or so.  Comments are welcome and appreciated.

Summertime Haiku ...

... brought to you by a family hiking trip in New Hampshire.

a mystery:
what killed all those dead birches
sprinkled through the forest?

*~*

sparkling in the sun
a noisy little brook marks
the property line.

*~*

in the warm sunlight,
a brightly colored beetle
perches on a leaf.

*~*

a break in the trees
gives us a panorama
of tall, green mountains.

*~*

above the mountains,
large, dark thunderheads promise
rain on the car roof.

What's the first thing you ever wrote that you still have?
some godawful Harry Potter Mary-Sue ...  erk.

Write poetry?
sometimes.  lots of haiku.

Angsty poetry?
not anymore, thank the goddess

my first NaNoWriMo story, I think

Coolest plot twist you ever wrote?
my plots have been fairly straightforward

Do you type or write by hand?
depends if I have a computer on hand or not

Do you save everything you write?
mostly

Do you ever go back to an old idea long after you abandoned it?
sometimes, if I get another idea for it

What's your favorite thing that you've written?
my apocalypse story that may or may not ever see the light of day

What's everyone else's favorite thing that you've written?
my time-travel RuroKen story got me quite a few reviews ...

yes

Who's your favorite constructive critic?
my friend CoSaCo

the closest I have come to either of those is my [see above] godawful Mary-sue

Do you ever write based on your dreams?
my dreams, when I remember them, are all far too strange.

Do you prefer happy endings, sad endings, or cliff-hangers?
cliff-hangers are good for keeping an audience hooked; I like them at the end of chapters.  But happy endings, when all the loose ends are tied off, are my favorites.

Have you ever written anything based on an artwork you've seen?
no

Are you concerned with spelling and grammar as you write?
yes

Ever write something entirely in chatspeak?
I hate chatspeak.  I don't even use it when I'm chatting.

Does music help you write?
sometimes

Are people surprised and confused when they find out you write well?
not really.  I don't think so.

Quote something you've written.
"Momoe stared at Nariaki.  From the looks of things, he had been painting all day.  He held a brush in one hand, a bowl of paint in another, and a second brush was wound in his hair ..."

Lost Soul

My story, "Lost Soul", is actually a Rurouni Kenshin fan fiction, not for Firefly

You can read it here on FanFiction.Net.

Please review!

I hope to have chapter 5 up soon -- I know exactly what I'm going to put in it, but I kinda need the first book of the Rurouni Kenshin manga, and my sister lent it out to a friend.  >_<;

Introductions

Hey, all.

I moved here from Greatest Journal because they haven't allowed posting there for a very long time and I kinda have some things that I want to post.

This is going to be basically the same thing as that: my writing dump journal.  Here you can find fan fiction, poetry, and original fiction.

Feel free to comment -- this journal has no bearing on my personal life, so it won't be friends-locked.
